Senator Kevin Lundberg deeply regrets the death of American diplomats in Benghazi, Libya, and prays for their families and their colleagues who heroically represent America in diplomatic and military service around the world.
“What we have seen during our solemn commemorations of 9/11, and our prayers for international peace, is yet another round of deadly attacks by Islamic militants. The attacks on US embassies are tantamount to direct attacks against US soil, and the assassination of a personal representative of the President of the United States.” said Lundberg.
“These attacks appear to be premeditated and motivated by state-sponsored terrorists connected with the international Muslim Brotherhood and/or Al Qaida, who will falsely create any cover story they can to justify their acts of war and violations of international law. We should not lend any credence to the idea that an unknown film clip is the actual cause of terrorism. That seems to be a clear distraction away from ongoing militant Islamic actions to wage hostilities against US interests.”
“So far, President Obama has failed to react to the attack on the US Embassy in Cairo that suggests well-coordinated planning for political attacks against the United States.” Lundberg also noted: “At the same time, the President has snubbed face-to-face meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, apparently wanting to wait until after the elections to deal with the expansion of militant Islam in Egypt and the construction of nuclear weapons in Iran. Indeed, after supporting Arab Spring uprisings that vaulted the Muslim Brotherhood into power, it remains unclear whether President Obama will fully support Israel as an ally, will act to prevent draconian sequestration of funding to our own military during a time of international crisis, or will recognize our national debt as one of the greatest threats to our national security.”
